Artificial intelligence implementation

Independent AI implementation: diagnosis, strategy, and execution with measurable financial returns. No vendor ties, no conflict of interest.

The companies pulling ahead of their competitors aren’t doing it with bigger budgets — they’re doing it by making better decisions about which AI to implement, when, and how. Independent AI implementation is the difference between an investment that pays off and a project abandoned six months in.

At AIRES – AI Research & Engineering Studio, we bring our leadership team’s 25 years of experience taking artificial intelligence into real business environments, from global multinationals to companies across the Spanish economy. What we’ve learned in that time is that the problem is almost never the technology: it’s strategy and management.

What is AI implementation, and why does it matter?

AI implementation is the process of guiding a company from an analysis of where it stands today to AI solutions that create measurable economic value. It isn’t selling software, and it isn’t installing tools and walking away — it’s working alongside your team to understand your processes, find where AI can make a real impact, and design a roadmap you can execute with the resources you have.

Many midsize and large companies have heard about AI for years without taking the plunge. The reasons are usually the same: they don’t know where to start, they’ve had a frustrating experience with a technology vendor, or they simply distrust the hype. Independent implementation — with no interest in selling any particular product — helps you make those decisions with sound judgment.

The difference between an AI specialist team and a technology vendor is fundamental: the specialist works for the client; the vendor works for its margins. At AIRES, we work for the business, not to sell tools.

Implementing AI isn’t a technology project — it’s a business project that uses technology. According to estimates compiled by RAND, more than 80% of AI projects fail, twice the rate of technology projects that don’t involve AI (RAND). The usual causes: poorly defined goals, data of lower quality than expected, underestimating the organizational change required, and expectations inflated by technology vendors. A well-managed implementation designs these mistakes out from the start.

What your company gets

  • Informed decisions with no commercial bias: we have no deals with technology vendors, so we recommend what works for each case, not what earns the biggest commission.
  • Lower investment risk: we identify which AI projects have demonstrable ROI before you commit budget, avoiding the most common mistakes.
  • Faster time to first results: 25 years of projects teach you to skip the false shortcuts and get to real value sooner.
  • Knowledge transfer to your team: the goal isn’t to make you dependent on outsiders but to leave lasting capabilities inside the organization.
  • A competitive edge that compounds: a well-implemented AI solution improves as it accumulates data; a competitor with a one-year head start gets harder and harder to catch.
  • Compliance by design: the EU AI Act is already in force. We design solutions that comply from day one, not as an afterthought.

How we implement AI at AIRES

These phases apply the relevant stages of DALIA to this service.

Phase 1: Diagnosis. We analyze your current processes, the state of your data, the tools already in place, and your team’s knowledge gaps. The result is an honest map of where you really stand, with no sugarcoating and no inflated opportunities.

Phase 2: Design. We prioritize the AI use cases with the greatest economic impact and the lowest implementation complexity. We design the solution architecture and set clear KPIs before writing a single line of code or buying a single tool.

Phase 3: Implementation. We stay with you through execution, coordinating with your in-house or external technical team, clearing roadblocks, and making sure technical decisions serve the business goal. We don’t disappear after handing over the report.

Phase 4: Handoff and maintenance. We train your team to use and maintain the solutions. We set up tracking metrics and review results regularly to make sure the projected ROI materializes.

Industry applications

AI implementation applies directly to industries that carry real weight in the economy. In food and agriculture, and dairy in particular, we’ve seen demand forecasting and automated quality control significantly reduce waste; results depend on the production process, demand variability, and the quality of historical data. In manufacturing and automotive, predictive maintenance cuts unplanned downtime that costs hundreds of thousands of euros a year. In hospitality and tourism, AI-driven personalization improves occupancy and average spend. In professional services firms, document automation frees up hours of costly, repetitive work every week.

Frequently asked questions

How much does AI implementation cost? It depends on the scope. An initial 15-minute assessment call is free. A full AI maturity assessment (executive report and roadmap) has a fixed fee agreed before we start. For implementation projects, we work in phases with clear deliverables for each one.

Do you only work with large companies? No. We work with companies of all kinds. What matters isn’t size but having processes that are at least partly digitized and data to work with.

Do I need my own technical team to work with you? It isn’t essential. On some projects, we coordinate directly with the client’s technical team; on others, we connect you with trusted partners for the technical build. What we do need is access to someone with decision-making authority inside the company.

Are you independent from technology vendors? Completely. AIRES has no commercial agreements with any software or AI platform vendor. When we recommend a tool, it’s because it’s the best one for that specific use case, not because it earns us indirect revenue.
